Concentric Annular Leaky Wave Antenna Array and Its Application to Self-Sensing Smart Antenna for Radio Wave Coverage in 2-D Confined Spaces

A beam-changeable concentric annular Leaky-Wave Antenna (LWA) array is proposed, which contains two LWAs with constant-interval slots. By changing the excitations of LWAs, radiation beam can be changed to different shapes and in directions i.e. single normal direction, conical 40° a synthetic beam. theoretical model for analyzing properties LWA put forward, prototype radius 42.6 mm height 4 fabricated. comparing simulation measurement results, it found that proposed exhibits very well expected performance. The antenna then applied construct self-sensing smart provide flexible radio wave coverage according positions users. Image-aware function integrated into antenna, series tests including received power Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) measurements are carried out indoor scenarios. results verify effectiveness design.
